Guthrie Lourdes is seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner to who will play a crucial role in managing and treating various types of wounds and also supervising HBOT patients.

As a Guthrie Nurse Practitioner, you play an important role in caring for our patients while acting as a patient advocate and collaborating with physicians and advanced practice providers, as well as Guthrie Specialists throughout the strong referral Network.

Highlights of the Position:

  • Responsibilities
    • The assessment of and treatment of patients wounds and understanding the etiology of wounds. NP spends 90% of time in outpatient treatment and 10% inpatient.
    • Share in the supervision of HBOT patients equally with other APPs on the Wound Care team.
    • The knowledge of wound care principles, appropriate wound dressing techniques and the prescribing of medications.
    • Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses and therapists in an inpatient setting, to ensure comprehensive inpatient care.
    • Effective coordination and communication with colleagues creating a teamwork approach to patient care.
    • Clear communication with patients and their families regarding wound care instructions.
    • Ability to educate patients on proper wound care at home.

  • Qualifications
    • Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner in New York.
    • Master's degree from an accredited program.

    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
